The hostel cooks make really good food, and there are bakeries, pharmacies, and restaurants nearby. A five minute walk gets you to the beach, river, or historic center. I stayed in an artistic home with works displayed around the place, and the host was kind, attentive, and courteous. Her staff were efficient, friendly, and alert. All four bathrooms were spotless, the internet worked perfectly, and outside there were wooden tables and hammocks. In the morning you can hear flocks of birds, and at night the sound of the river and sea carries over.

There’s a shared kitchen, hammocks, and a garden, with a lovely sunset view at the back of the hostel. It’s clean and well kept, and the location is excellent, four minutes from the beach and just 30 seconds from Beco das Garrafas. The owner, Cristina, and staff Milena, Tiago, and Cristina were all polite, kind, and welcoming.

Criatina is one of the best hosts I’ve met. She’s an artist with a warm, down-to-earth way of making you feel at home. Her pet is very welcome too. Enjoy your stay!

I liked it so much that I stayed here twice in one month. It really felt like spending time at a close family member’s home, thanks especially to Cris, who cares a lot about her guests and the hostel. She’s attentive, charismatic, and very kind. The shared room was spacious and comfortable, with large lockers inside. The huge shared kitchen had a powerful stove, and the garden had plenty of benches and a few hammocks. The location is another big plus: Beco das Garrafas is about a three minute walk away, and Centro Beach is around five minutes. Prado only has this hostel, and it’s so good that there’s no need for another. Highly recommended!
