Américas Benidorm Hotel

I booked at the last minute and was surprised that it was fairly affordable compared with other high-end hotels. I still wanted to be in Khana area. I requested a queen double bedroom but got a triple-bed option instead. The room felt a bit suspicious compared with others, and I’ve stayed in similar hotels before. Everything was just okay. I’m not especially happy, but sometimes you get what you pay for.

The rooms are spacious, and the service, staff, and experience were excellent. This was my second stay within a year. The bathrooms had been outdated and poorly maintained on my first visit, but I’m glad they’ve now been renovated. There was some renovation work happening during this stay, which was a bit unpleasant, but it’s good to see the hotel investing in upgrades and moving in the right direction. I’m looking forward to coming back.

The location was great, around a 5-10 minute walk from the beach, and breakfast was included and good. My standard room, booked with a friend, was huge, with two double beds. The bathroom was awesome: a massive tub, a bidet beside the toilet, a separate shower, and a SAUNA. Have you ever seen a sauna in a hotel room? The lobby was clean and neat, the staff very nice, and the top-floor pool was small but cute. There was an amazing view of Rio, including Christ the Redeemer. The gym had adequate equipment too. They provided lots of towels, about 6-7, I think. The young man working reception in the afternoon was very nice and handsome. I’d recommend staying here!

We spent four nights here, and I wouldn’t stay again. The breakfast had few choices, was low quality, and wasn’t replenished properly, which was not what I’d expect at this price. The worst thing was a huge cockroach falling from above right next to my pillow. Disgusting and unacceptable. Renovations were going on, and the hallways were covered in dust that made it hard to breathe during the day. It felt like walking through a construction site. When we raised these issues with the receptionist, all we got was, “Ok, I’m sorry.” No attempt to help or make things right, just indifference. Look elsewhere if cleanliness, good service, and a decent stay matter to you.
