We didn’t feel safe. Two random people opened our door in the middle of the night, and another did so during the day. I tried telling reception, but no one spoke English. People were also hanging around the lobby day and night, and the place felt worse than a backpackers. Outside, the street smelled of urine and there were homeless people. They lost and cancelled our booking, even though we had checked in online that day. I’m a platinum Accor member and showed them the booking, but they said no rooms were available. During Carnival, with the city booked out, I was speechless. After saying they were full, they eventually found us two separate rooms for three of us for the night. We were moved the next day and waited two hours without a room. The rooms are tiny, with no privacy because the vanity is separate from the small shower. The beds were stained and smelled. I won’t renew my Accor membership after this. I’m totally disappointed and expected better service and support from Accor.

The floor was in terrible shape, and the bathroom was moldy and unclean. The air vents were dirty and clearly hadn’t been maintained. The air conditioning was in very poor condition and didn’t work on the first night.

I got to the hotel at six in the morning and was told my room would be ready at 3 PM. At 2:30, they hadn’t even started cleaning or preparing it. During Carnival the city was chaotic, everything was closed, and after a long, exhausting flight I had nowhere to go, wait or rest. I went to the front desk four times to ask when I could check in. The staff member who first helped wasn’t very helpful and was rather rude. Another staff member said they’d start getting the room ready. If I hadn’t gone back to ask, I would have waited beyond the 3 PM check-in time. When I finally got the room, it was quite dirty. I don’t recommend this hotel at all.

Breakfast was delicious and had lots of options, and the staff were good. We also found the mini market essential after a long day, though it would be great if they stocked hot pockets burger too. The hotel is well located, the bed is comfortable and so is the shower. The room was clean and ready when we arrived. It’s clever and economical to have the sink separate from the rest of the bathroom. The room is very small, but that was fine for our one-day stay. It’s something to consider if you’re very tall, for example. I’d definitely recommend it!
