It's a safe place to stay while exploring Salvador, and the location is one of the best. The building looks good from the outside and is very well situated, with a decent supermarket, Perini, next door and a large mall beside it. Still, the apartments are small, and many have a kitchen sink so tiny it seems meant for a bathroom. I liked the pool, but it was dirty for 7 of the 10 days during the second week of March. I saw the pool worker test the water by tasting it before adding more chemicals. The pool edge has cracks and needs repair, and the tiles and their grout were dirty, with algae growing between them. The building gym is a joke. The space could be much better, but it lacks imagination. The gym bathrooms and shower had a sauna and were clean, but the toilets and shower looked like they belonged at a cheap truck stop. They couldn't even make the toilet walls straight. So bad, lol. People here somehow don't seem to mind. Brazil's economic situation hasn't been the best over the last couple of years, and hopefully the residence will improve as things get better.

Everything was great. The condominium has all the facilities, and the staff are polite and helpful.

Really good. The pool is huge, and there's a gym, sauna, and game room. It's right by the shopping mall and 50 m from the beach and promenade.

I lived in this condominium for six years and only left because my job moved. It's one of the best I've known, with high quality architecture and finishes. The management kept the services efficient and well disciplined, and the security system worked well without going overboard. A truly fabulous place to live.

Barra tropical is an apart in the heart of Barra, near Cristo, next to the shopping mall, and overlooking Barra beach. To me, that beach has it all: ziplining, surfing, natural pools at low tide, and the traditional crab bars along the waterfront at night. It's a great base for enjoying both the neighborhood and the city as a whole.
