The backyard was lovely, the rooms were nice, and breakfast was fine. The Wi-Fi worked okay, too. I really liked the friendly hosts and people here. My one gripe is that the rooms need more outlets for charging phones. It has a cozy, at-home feel. If that’s what you’re after, go to Tijuana Hostel.

The staff were lovely, attentive, and kind, even while I was fuming about the directions. Searching “Tijuana hostel” on Google Maps sent me to the wrong address, showing it in the Centro. It is not in the Centro, so use the actual address. Learn from my mistake.

It's a practical, cozy place for what a hostel is expected to offer, including breakfast. Anyone who's stayed in hostels knows the kind of setup. The bad part is that this one doesn't take credit or debit cards. One other thing the owner already knows about: when I used Uber, it sent me to the other side of the José Sarney bridge. I think they'll sort that out.

Everything was simple and respectful, and I felt at home. The administrator is a wonderful person, and the support staff were great. Breakfast was outstanding, too. I met a lot of good people there and still keep in touch with them. I stayed in 2015 and had a wonderful experience. I'll be back in 2017 for an event at UFMA. Best wishes!

The courtesy from the staff and owner Laércio really stood out. He was always attentive to what we needed and had fantastic outing tips. The location is good, with everything close by, including a beach you can walk to. People around the world treat this hostel as a reference in São Luís, capital of the beautiful state of Maranhão. Go see for yourself. I recommend it and will return, since I left many friends there.
