The staff were friendly and efficient, and even set up beach chairs and umbrellas for us. The beach was peaceful and relaxing, just a two-minute walk away. The grounds were full of lovely plants and greenery, with a clean pool at a perfect temperature. We ordered some poolside snacks for lunch, and they were fresh and well made. A WhatsApp group with just us and reception made it easy to book tours and ask questions. We took an awesome quad tour. Bikes were available too, and we rode to nearby beach restaurants for lunch. Breakfast was delicious; choosing our food the night before meant it was made fresh for us. The room was clean, and the warm-colored lights made it feel cozy. Getting to the charming downtown area by car was easy.

The owners went far beyond being great hosts. When I got sick, they took me to the hospital and cared for me like family. That kind of kindness is rare. Throughout our stay, every staff member was thoughtful and helpful, and the service was impeccable from check-in to check-out. Our bungalow was cozy, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The products provided were all high quality, and every facility was beautifully maintained. Breakfast was customized, delicious, and carefully made with fresh ingredients. We've stayed in countless inns and lodges across Brazil, but never felt so at home or so well looked after as we did at Ocacocar. It was an amazing experience, and we hope to return many times.

The hosts, Adriana and Alexander, gave us excellent restaurant and boat suggestions, and the staff were wonderful: friendly, helpful, and relaxed. We spent 7 days here, and it was a pleasure. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, with good-sized beds, air conditioning, a decent bathroom, a mini bar, and a hammock. The pousada is beautiful, with mango trees and lush grass. By the pool there are day beds, a bar, and showers, and it was lovely for an afternoon swim when the wind picked up on the beach. Breakfast had a delicious mix of northeastern fruit, bread, eggs, cheese, cakes, and fresh juices. The beach is about a 100m walk away, and the staff can set up an umbrella, chairs, and a table there, then bring food and drinks. The beach itself is beautiful, and the water was wonderfully warm. We could also borrow bikes to ride along the beach. The drive from Recife takes 4 hours on challenging roads, so Maceió might be a better starting point. I'm an Australian tourist, and I was lucky to spend a week in this charming pousada in paradise. I'd definitely go back.

The power outage on the second-to-last day was the worst part. I got back from the beach around 4 p.m., tired and wanting a shower and air conditioning, but there was no electricity until about 8 p.m. It was very hot, with lots of mosquitoes, and I had no food and couldn't go out for dinner. The inn had no generator or proper support for guests, and communication was unclear. After a long, stressful wait, they moved me to another inn around 10 p.m. I arrived close to 11, hungry, with nothing open in town. I felt there was a lack of respect and empathy. The pool was visibly dirty, with residue on its edges and bottom. On my second day, it was closed for “maintenance” and stayed closed for the rest of my visit, with no warning. When I pay to stay somewhere, I expect to be able to use the facilities offered. This was more than an inconvenience and fell short of what I had paid for. Breakfast was extremely basic. Some fruit was past its best, and other pieces weren't fresh. The cake was a tiny, very processed one. The juices tasted artificial and overly watered down, not fresh or carefully prepared, and they didn't even have the basic option of orange juice. The whole stay was frustrating, with poor facilities, repeated service problems, and little attention to basic details. It isn't worth the price. Be aware that São Miguel dos Milagres has poor infrastructure too, including its roads, shops, cleanliness, and beach stalls, and that affects the service and quality at some inns.

We spent 6 nights at Ocacocar near Réveillon, and it was such a good stay. There aren't many rooms, so it feels like being in a private garden surrounded by nature. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. Thank you! Even though the inn isn't right on the waterfront, they provide beach service. Breakfast is served at the table, there's a pool with bungalows and music that was well chosen, and mechanical bikes are available.
