The presentation was actually decent for the price, with good bathrooms and a roomy kitchen. I got a prompt refund back to my card after asking to leave. But I checked in, paid by card, and felt itching as soon as I put my head on the pillow. I saw a small bedbug and then a huge one. I took the pillow downstairs to show the staff and asked for a refund so I could go elsewhere. They were taking out a mattress at the time, so I’m sure they knew about the infestation. This isn’t a tourist hostel. Seeing local guests with face tattoos would be enough to make me move on, bed bugs aside. I give every place with bed bugs one star, which is why I rated it this way. I think most hostels in the area have the same owner, so be cautious.

The staff were incredibly kind, and the place was cleaned thoroughly every day. But the cheapest room has no fans to keep the bugs from biting, and I ended up covered in bites. The internet was awful, barely good enough to stream at 144p. Upstairs, the toilets were often clogged and the showers had poor water pressure.

The staff were nice and the location was good, but security was a serious problem. All the lockers were broken, making it very easy to steal from them. My phone was stolen overnight, sometime between night and early morning.

The owners were kind and friendly, and there were plenty of bathrooms with enough room. The kitchen had all the cookware I needed, and it’s close to santana metro.
