Gran Estanplaza Berrini

The hotel never asked which currency I wanted to use, took my card, and promised it wouldn't be charged. But my card was charged in foreign currency instead of local currency, adding a 12% currency markup. The hotel took no responsibility, and I was never refunded that 12%. The customer service and after-sales experience were horrible. They don't care about their customers' experience. I won't return and don't recommend this place. Make sure you double-check the currency with the front desk if they ask for a debit or credit card for a pre-authorized hold.

The breakfast area was the best part of the hotel, with live music, and the location is excellent, with good restaurants nearby. The rooms are spacious, but the furniture is quite antiquated and there are no outlets by the bedside. Gym equipment is outdated and the setup needs improvement. Check-in was slow because there were only two people at the desk. If you stay here, make sure you don't get a room facing the social club across the street, since it gets noisy all night.

I feel very safe in the area as a woman traveling alone, and there are lots of restaurants close by. This is the hotel I choose for business trips, and I'm very happy with it. The rooms are very clean, and the service, breakfast, and everything else are perfect. I highly recommend it!

The live piano at breakfast gave the place a great atmosphere. It's a great hotel, and I'd stay again. I took off one star because a few details weren't quite right, like the loose water register in the bathroom.
