Hotel Estação Sé

Good.

The staff treated me like an enemy, especially the morning receptionist on 17/02/26, who was arrogant and rude. He seemed like someone occupying a customer service position rather than someone suited to the work. I paid for two nights but left early, so one night went to waste. Peace of mind is non-negotiable. It was a terrible experience. For the same price, I’ve stayed at Dann Inn Planalto, which is a thousand times better.

The location is excellent, right across from one of the exits of the Sé metro station. It’s also across from Igreja da Sé and Palácio da Justiça, and close to the Liberdade neighborhood. There are snack bars nearby, and the hotel has an elevator. Although there are some people using drugs or alcohol and homeless people around the area, there’s also plenty of police presence throughout the day and night. For the price, it’s a very good hotel. The room and bathroom were comfortable, and the bed and bath linens were very clean. The TV, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning all worked perfectly. The bathroom is small but does the job, with a mirror by the sink, a glass shower enclosure, and hot water. My only suggestion would be to improve breakfast and add more buffet choices. A good place to stay for work or if you don’t need luxury.

The location was a real plus, close to the metro and surrounded by shops, and the staff were welcoming. The steady police presence on the street also made it feel safe. But the stay itself was a letdown. The room looked nothing like the photos, the breakfast was very poor, and it seemed the room hadn't been cleaned: the shower stall, blanket, and sheets were dirty, and there was a strong cigarette smell when I arrived. The shower stopped heating, so I had to move rooms. Nights around Praça da Sé were very noisy, and I could hear a couple having sex next door, which was extremely uncomfortable. The hotel Wi-Fi was awful, so be ready to use your 4G. It badly needs a renovation, a thorough room cleaning, and a much better breakfast. Unfortunately, I left disappointed.
