The room was decent value once I finally got in, with a nice balcony. Room 2209 was mine. The shower pressure was great compared with other budget places, though the shower stall and toilet area were tiny. I’m a small 130-pound adult and still found it cramped. I arrived at 2pm for a 3pm check-in and was told early access wasn’t possible, which was fine. But at 3pm the room hadn’t been cleaned at all. The bigger problem was trying to get anyone to deal with it. Security is there around the clock to let people in and out, and you only get a code for your unit, not keys to the building. When I asked for a clean room, security said to message the WhatsApp number because they couldn’t contact management. That number turned out to be a bot. It logged my request as an “Escalation,” but nobody replied. I had to push the security staff to get management involved. No one sent updates either. When I checked with security for the third time, at 4:45pm, they said the room was ready. Maybe it had been ready since 4pm, but no one told me. I lost two hours. I was traveling with a group, with everyone booking separately. We each put two adults on our reservations because we hadn’t decided who would share with whom. At online check-in I didn’t know whether anyone would stay with me, so I left the second adult’s name blank, assuming I could add it later. After checking in alone, security told me only registered guests could enter. Changing that meant messaging management through the same bot that never answered. They need to make the visitor policy clear. I looked all over their page and couldn’t find it. If I’d known, I wouldn’t have booked this place.
The location is good. That’s about it. The staff are rude and slow, and treat you like a criminal while you wait outside for them to find your reservation. The apartment is like a shoebox, and the walls are paper thin.
I’d paid in advance, but when I arrived I couldn’t get inside. The reception is awful, and the place isn’t cheap. I don’t recommend it.
I’m very disappointed and regret leaving Hotel Boulevard Augusta for On Lorena, a Vitacon development. Apartment 1402 is managed by HOUSI and AIRLOCANDO. The stay is billed in 21-hour periods, with check-in at 3pm and checkout at noon, and I was threatened with fees or fines if I didn’t follow those times. Because of that, and also relying on @booking.com, I booked and paid for early check-in. I had booked three nights, December 6, 7, and 8, and expected to arrive early on the first day. That morning Airlocando messaged me to remind me that check-in was at 3pm and warn about charges. I explained that this was a mistake because I’d paid for check-in at 8-9am. After a while they apologized for the error, but then told me cleaning at the apartment was running late and I wouldn’t be able to enter at the time specified in the Booking, Airlocando, Housi, and VITACON agreements. I spent the day wandering around São Paulo, tired and exposed to risks, and couldn’t go back to Hotel Augusta Boulevard. I eventually walked to ON LORENA, but the VITACON condominium employee did nothing to help. The cleaner arrived at 1:30pm, but the linens hadn’t arrived. I had to wait until 4pm to get in, and even then I couldn’t rest because the laundry delivery was incomplete. I’ve stayed in this kind of accommodation in Miami before without problems, but I can’t recommend it here for now, until they learn how to run it properly. I notified everyone involved, BOOKING, AIRLOCANO, HOUSI, and COND. VITACON. The early check-in charge has been refunded, and I’m still waiting for a proportional refund for the hours taken from my stay. Be careful and research carefully before deciding. São Paulo is beautiful and has plenty of options, so it isn’t worth risking this kind of frustration and embarrassment. I was also warned of fees for dirtying towels or other linens.
There’s an incredible view over São Paulo, and the building is well equipped, with a pool, 24-hour front desk, security, gym, and laundry. The location is excellent too, close to Oscar Freire, popular restaurants, the metro, Avenida Paulista, and Parque Ibirapuera.
