Airbnb and Expedia renters, be careful with this listing. After a roughly 20-hour flight and another hour and a half on the road, we arrived exhausted with our baby. Check-in took about 30 minutes. A staff member behind glass gave us orders instead of helping, which felt dehumanizing after such a long trip. They took my unlocked phone to get a photo of my passport, although I had the passports with me and could have shown them. My phone had sensitive personal and business information, including messages, documents, and financial data. Nobody explained who had accessed it or how the data was protected. I considered that a serious privacy and security breach. The apartment was dirty and felt unsafe as soon as we walked in. There was hair on the bathroom surfaces, including the toilet and sink, and I have photos with timestamps from when we arrived. Some chairs were broken, and the door handle and lock were damaged, so the door wouldn’t close properly. That was especially worrying with a baby. We didn’t spend a single night there. We left at about 11 PM, trembling and exhausted, and had to drive another 30 minutes to a different hotel in the middle of the night. The emergency stay cost us over $400 out of pocket because of the condition and safety problems. There had already been trouble with what I thought was a different accommodation. I canceled it after the host was rude and unresponsive and demanded a cleaning fee through PIX, a Brazilian payment method I don’t have. The listing appeared again under another name, with the cleaning charge included in the total, so it looked like a separate property. We only realized on arrival that it was the same place I’d canceled over those earlier issues. Airbnb became involved, and I provided extensive evidence, including timestamped photos of the dirt, broken furniture, and damaged door. The host agreed to refund only one night, despite our not staying even one night of the two booked. I found it unreasonable to charge us for a night in an unsafe, unclean apartment we never occupied. This was frightening and exhausting, especially after international travel with a baby. The experience included a privacy breach, broken and unsafe furniture, faulty door hardware, dirty conditions, a rigid and dehumanizing check-in, a misleading listing, an unresponsive host who wouldn’t take full responsibility, and a major expense for emergency accommodation. I’d strongly caution families and international guests before booking.

The building looks attractive in photos, but the area around it tells a very different story. This is not a high-end building, and anyone thinking of renting an Airbnb here should know what the surroundings are like. The sidewalk is littered with rubbish, torn bags, and food scraps that draw insects. The bin overflows, and the mess sits there for days. You have to step around dog waste, and possibly other waste too. The side of the building, where nobody seems to check, has become a public toilet for dogs and shameless people. There’s waste everywhere, and rats or cockroaches coming out of the rubbish aren’t unusual. The building acts as if none of this is happening. There’s no more frequent cleaning and no effort to talk to the city. It doesn’t help to have air conditioning and a soft bed if you step into waste and trash outside. The sidewalk bin isn’t just full, it’s a sanitary disaster, with ripped bags and exposed food.

A good stay, with a safe environment close to the metro. The bedroom and bathroom accommodations were good.

A modern, well-built building with a full range of leisure facilities. The mini market is handy and well stocked.
