Pousada Cantinho da Serra

Great!

The place is kind of cute, but the value for money just isn't there. The pousada has little infrastructure, and breakfast is limited and sparse, with everything controlled rather than served freely. The quality felt like something from a cheap bar. They also charge an extra 30% of the daily rate if a guest wants to use the two hours between checkout and check-in to complete what I consider their legal 24-hour stay. I think this is abusive and violates the CDC. The owner replied that they hadn't received a guest under my name and that their check-in and checkout times weren't as I described. That was definitely the place I stayed. Under the CDC and the Tourism Law, as I understand them, a 2 p.m. check-in means checkout should be at 2 p.m., not noon, as they do. That cuts two hours from the stay, and if a guest wants to leave at 2 p.m. to make up those hours, they charge 30% of the daily rate. Yes, it was there!

The pet area was great, with neatly trimmed grass, and my pet could really feel at home. The Pousada also has a zip line. The breakfast was magnificent. And the service was exceptional. I only comment on one out of ten places I visit, and this one earned it. Cantinho da Serra is off to a great start, congratulations. We'll definitely be back. #Teresópolis #PousadaCantinhodaSerra

Our four-legged kid loved the great pet space at Cantinho da Serra, and the pousada is small and close to nature. But the recreation for adults was disappointing, and from the website we got the impression there was a small waterfall. It's actually outside the pousada, about 100 meters away. The pool is an extension of the owners' house. The owner suggested some places to visit, including the Teresópolis fair, an orchid garden that's quite far away, and CBF, which is nearby, as well as some good restaurants. We were also put in a room with a leak. After heavy rain, water got into the room, kitchen, and bathroom. The website information and the lack of activities inside the pousada both fell short, especially for the daily rate.
