Pousada Villa Real

The breakfast is excellent, and the staff are attentive and helpful. The guesthouse is pleasant, though some small repairs are needed, along with more attention to cleaning the outdoor area by the rooms. The bathrooms could also use better lighting.

We had a really unlucky stay. The owners are very friendly and did try to make up for the worst part, and the guesthouse itself is nice, with a pretty inner garden and pool. Our room, number 13, faced the street, which is incredibly noisy. It's the city's main road, with loud music from cars, noisy motorcycles, and people talking loudly. Those traditional windows don't block the sound. We slept badly for both nights, which is why the room gets one star from me. If you stay there, ask for a room facing the garden. The room was simple with no frills, the staff were friendly, and breakfast was good.

I stayed with my family from 1 to 4/5/25. We really enjoyed the garden, and the Rio das Mortes runs behind the guesthouse, which is lovely to see. The place is well kept, clean, and organized, and breakfast tastes good. Denise, the owner, is very attentive and does what she can to please guests. All the staff are polite and always cheerful. One suggestion: put a notice on the room doors explaining the daily housekeeping. Breakfast could also get an upgrade, especially since we're in MG, where the food is so good.

On my first stay at Pousada Villa Real, I had a really positive experience. The location is handy, just a few meters from restaurants, bars, shops, and tourist spots, so we left the car in the garage and walked around. Rooms are spacious and airy, the beds are comfortable, and the bed and bath linens are spotless. The grounds are extensive, with a beautiful, well-kept green area and a lovely pool that is always clean. The decor follows the colonial style of Minas Gerais' historic towns. Rio das Mortes runs behind the inn, and it's worth taking a look. Breakfast was tasty, carefully prepared, and well organized. There were fruits, juices, coffee, milk, tea, jams, cold cuts, breads, cakes, other baked treats, and that delicious pão de queijo that we mineiros know how to make. The mango juice was made from fruit picked at the inn. I have nothing but praise for the service. Everyone was smiling, polite, and helpful, especially the reception guys Arthur, Josiel, and Wellington, and the kitchen staff, who make the treats with care and promptly handle requests. The housekeepers do a great job with the rooms. Everyone has that warm Minas Gerais manner. I recommend it.
