The location in the historic center of Tiradentes, MG is excellent, and there’s parking plus a good breakfast. It felt cozy, with thoughtful details, and everything was very clean. The bed linen even smelled of lavender. A few items could use maintenance, but overall it worked well.

The location is the one thing this hotel has going for it. I was relieved when my stay was finally over. I can’t understand how it has a 4.5 rating on Google. Of all the hotels I’ve stayed in, and there have been many, this is easily among the five worst. I paid R$500,00 per night through Booking.com, and for that price the experience was awful. A real rip-off. There are cheaper places in Tiradentes that are infinitely better. I wouldn’t recommend it and will never return. I had to stay in three different rooms over just two nights. The first had a strong mold smell, so I asked to move because I’m allergic. The second was full of large biting ants coming from an old, dirty, broken sofa beside the double bed. It was bad enough that an employee moved us without us even asking. The third had cockroaches and a strong sewer smell in the bathroom. The bed was very uncomfortable, the pillow was hard, and the old sheets and towels looked worn out. The old, dirty fur blankets certainly didn’t seem to be washed and would be terrible for people with allergies. The shower had no pressure and its holes were clogged with dirt. It wasn’t centered in the shower area, so you had to maneuver just to bathe. Breakfast was awful, the place was dirty, and even basic maintenance seemed to be missing.

What upset me most was that nobody told us the street had been closed for repairs for at least three weeks, according to the pousada’s own staff. We weren’t given the chance to reconsider our stay. We couldn’t park at the pousada and were offered parking about 200 meters away. Repairs have to happen, so that part was okay. But leaving out that information felt deeply disrespectful and inconsiderate. They might have lost our booking if they’d told us, but they could have kept us as guests for life. Instead, they’ve lost us for good.

Rustic but cozy, and conveniently located near the central part of town.
