Chalé Estância Cachoeira do Avencal

We wanted a chalet tucked into the mountains, and that’s exactly what we found: secluded but safe, surrounded by plants, with a river nearby and enough quiet to hear nature. The place is very well cared for, and its heating keeps it warm without a separate heater or air conditioning. Every indoor tap has hot water. The hot tub is in a fully glassed-in room with an amazing view of the outdoors. It was perfect for us as a romantic couple, and we’ll certainly return. We also had an unexpected daily visitor, a wandering dog called general, haha.

The little river beside the wonderful Alpino chalet can be heard throughout the place. Being there and listening to the water was hard to describe. It’s such a good spot for a rest, and we’ll be back. The chalet has a roomy bathroom, a well-stocked kitchen that worked great for us, and hot water at every tap. The hosts were helpful and shared plenty of suggestions for outings and restaurants.

The owners were very attentive from booking through the whole stay. They shared ideas for outings and restaurants, and handled everything online, but we still felt very welcome. The location was excellent for us. We knew it wasn’t downtown and wanted that, and the drive in by car was quick, with the dirt road in good condition. The chalet is charming in the middle of nature, with cozy decor and a river nearby whose sound is lovely to listen to. Other chalets are around, but far enough away to preserve privacy. The bath area is gorgeous, and the place is great for relaxing. The bed was comfortable and firm, just how I like it, and the well-equipped kitchen had everything I needed.

We ended up here after the tub in our original chalet broke. The staff were very attentive, and it gave us a chance to try another kind of accommodation. It’s a great place, almost like a small apartment, with a spacious bedroom near the entrance and a kitchen at the back. The kitchen room also has a bathtub and a big window looking onto a lake behind the inn. Lights in the woods beyond the lake make the scene at night feel surreal.
