Hideaways at Palm Bay

I love Exuma, this resort, the location, and most of all the people. We’ll definitely be back. Cindy was an incredible concierge, so helpful with booking both our stay and boat rental. At SPLASH, Patrick and Gabrielle were always friendly and attentive, with great food and drinks. The free shuttle downtown was handy for groceries or the straw market. Marvin was a great driver and kept us entertained.

We saw sea turtles and stingrays right along the beach, which was a nice bonus. The property was clean and well kept, the staff friendly and helpful, and Splash Beach Bar was a reliable restaurant. There were people around, but it never seemed crowded. We only found out when checking out that the place was fully occupied, which was good to know for a future trip. This was our first time in Exuma, and plenty of people had recommended Hideaways. They were right. Give it a try on your first visit or next one, you won’t be disappointed.

The view and beach were lovely, and the water is only steps from the front door. Our room was nice, the staff very friendly, and they gave us a warm welcome for our anniversary. We liked having a shuttle to Georgetown, and the Fish Fry food court is within walking distance for Bahamian food. There’s also a fun bar and restaurant on site, plus friendly cats. We’re hoping to come back next summer. The only downside was the pricing process. That’s an industry-wide complaint, not just about this property. Once all the fees and add-ons were counted, I thought the final cost was fair, but it was quite different from where the price started. Still, don’t let that put you off this beautiful place.

Otel was great. The kitchen had lots of cooking gear, a coffee maker, a small fridge, and a microwave. We also had two air conditioners. They didn’t have a hair dryer, though. There’s a pool on the property, but with that beautiful ocean right in front of you, you don’t really go to the pool.
