Tshang Tshang Villa

The clients were very sweet, hospitable and helpful. The hotel is kind of inside a village, and the food was medium, but you can eat it. If you're visiting Paro, Bhutan, I'd recommend this hotel.

We were stuck here for two nights because our tour package had booked the hotel and we couldn't move elsewhere. The rooms and food were disappointing, service was extremely poor, and the staff were very rude. It felt like a complete waste of money. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.

The staff service was the best part, especially one staff member who was always smiling and helped with everything we needed. The villa feels authentic, with distinctive architecture and seating, and it's peaceful at nearly the end of the other stays. You can't see the river, which flows a little farther ahead, but you can hear it. There's a small parking area and street parking too. Reception has some good books, though there's no lift. Our room had a heater, clean bathroom, hot water, neat towels, toiletries and other amenities. We'd booked triple sharing through our package, but they accommodated us with an extra bed in a double room. The restaurant was warm and good, and there was a bar. Dinner was very good: paneer gravy, potato, bitter gourd fry, phulka, rice with daal, tasty manchurian and good rasagulla. Breakfast included omelette, bread with butter and jam, paratha, fresh watermelon, orange juice and corn flakes. The rice wasn't very good. Overall, a very good stay in Paro.

The hotel sits by the river and is about a 20-minute drive from the famous Tigers Nest hike base camp. We had a comfortable, wonderful stay in a room facing the mountain on the back side of the hotel. Staff were super polite and friendly, and service was quick and efficient. The food was simply awesome, all tasty and freshly served, from rice, dal, chicken and roti to vegetables and desserts. We had breakfast delivered to the room. There were lots of options, including puri sabji and fried rice, but we chose toast, juice and fruit since we were heading out to sightsee at Tigers Nest and other nearby places.
