Sitting on my balcony with tea and looking out over Bhutan's quiet countryside was a lovely part of the stay. The hotel has an old world charm, with large, elegant rooms and a nice riverside setting. The courteous staff, plus good food at both breakfast and dinner, made for a great visit. It brought back memories of relaxed childhood holidays.

The riverfront is only about 50 feet across from the main entrance and is a great place to watch the sunset. The rooms are very clean, well maintained, and well appointed. Staff are extremely helpful and courteous.

There's no shopping nearby, so do that before you check in. The hotel is right beside the river and has parking, a restaurant, large rooms, an electric kettle, and hot water around the clock. Breakfast and dinner are standard, nothing special. The women serving in the restaurant could use better training and be more courteous.

The rooms are spacious, and the food was good, especially the panipuri. Tea came free as a welcome drink, while coffee cost extra. They provided a dental kit. There were mosquitoes, so be prepared for that. The rooms are otherwise nice, and you could spend two days here.

Its main draw is the riverside setting, away from Punakha city. Rooms are spacious, but the amenities could be better. The breakfast and dinner buffets have very few options. Management should work on improving that.
