My friends and I are having a great time here. Being right beside the river is the thing I love most about this resort. I normally listen to ambient sounds to fall asleep, but here I can drift off to the real sound of running water.

The room was cramped and quite small, with no wardrobe. Its attached balcony helped make up for that, with a wonderful look over the river. The resort is about 25 km from Punakha Dzong and Suspendion Bridge, so the journeys there and back took a lot of time. Still, with the natural beauty by the river and the excellent service, I’m not lowering my rating for the room size or distance. The location between two green hills was lovely. We could hear the rushing river from about 10 metres away at the balcony, along with birdsong. There are a couple of benches or a swing by the river, a nice spot to relax and take pictures. Staff were extremely polite and helped us with genuine smiles. The food was freshly cooked and good throughout. We were on a group tour, and when we asked, they made stuffed kachauris, something they hadn’t cooked before. They turned out superb, and that was really heartwarming.

The gardens are lovely, and they’ve clearly done a nice job with them. Take a walk around in the morning before breakfast. The food was lovely as well, and service was great. We ended up staying overnight unexpectedly when our internal flights were cancelled because of the weather. What a nice surprise. The river is loud, but I like the white noise and had one of my best nights of sleep. If that kind of sound bothers you, bring earplugs.

The cottages sit between two mountains, right beside a flowing river, surrounded by nature. It’s a peaceful spot with a superb setting, and the sound of the water is lovely. The first-floor rooms have good views. The only drawback is that hot water can take a while in the morning.

A beautiful property in a fabulous spot, with a stream running alongside the cottages that feels almost dreamlike. Service is good, and food and drinks are available on site. The downside is that Wangdue town is cut off from the property. The cottages are quite old and haven’t been maintained properly, and the food needs better quality and more variety.
