Pemako Punakha

At Pemako, the rooms open onto lovely river and mountain views, with plenty of space and daylight. The architecture sits naturally in the landscape, and the service is attentive without hovering. What stayed with me most was the quiet feeling of slowing down. Waking beside the Mo Chhu Rive, I felt peaceful in a rare way, like the whole place encouraged softer voices, slower steps, and a little more reflection. A restful place to reconnect with yourself.

The stillness and sounds of nature away from the city are what made my two-night stay so memorable. I was lucky to visit Bhutan to film at this beautiful property, where the hospitality, careful details, luxury, and lovely food all came together in an extraordinary setting. Choki was professional and helpful throughout. 10/10 visit.

The spa alone could make the trip worthwhile. One treatment left me feeling as if six months of stress had lifted, and the nature, guided mindfulness sessions, and calm of the resort helped me leave deeply recharged. Service was what made Pemako feel so personal. The staff were warm and intuitive, and seemed to care about me as a person, not just a guest. Nima especially stood out, handling everything from small requests to more involved arrangements with kindness, grace, and efficiency. He made the whole stay feel easy, and I couldn't have asked for a better host. Meals were a pleasure too, with locally sourced ingredients prepared expertly and served with a quiet elegance. Each one felt like a little ceremony. The rooms balance local character with modern comfort, and the textures, scents, and views all feel carefully considered. Set against Bhutan's beautiful scenery, Pemako brings together five-star comfort and a real sense of peace and authenticity. I've travelled a lot, but this was the best stay abroad I've ever had, without exaggeration. Pemako is somewhere that stays with you. Five stars don't feel like enough, I'd give it ten if I could.

Karma's warm, thoughtful care made our stay at Pemako Punakha especially memorable. The place felt peaceful and luxurious, surrounded by beautiful nature, and the staff were wonderful. A lovely getaway for a quiet, memorable break.
