The staff were helpful and polite, and the food was very good. It’s a lovely hotel in Thimphu, a little way from the main market. There are pretty streets nearby where you can see everyday local life, along with some really nice cafes.

The place has an old world feel and character. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and roomy, and the stay was pretty decent. The food was okay.

We ended up at Hotel Migmar as our second choice for our last stop in Thimphu, since our first pick wasn’t available. The food was HORRIBLE, the worst of our eight days in Bhutan. The reception and dining staff were also rude, which felt especially disheartening after the way we’d been treated elsewhere in Paro and Punakha. One thing that happened at dinner: my friend’s mother asked three times whether a dish was chicken before trying it. The staff kept telling her it was chicken, but another staff member later confirmed it was chilli Beef. I’ll leave it there so others can make an informed choice. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The staff and management were polite, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the hotel had a peaceful, welcoming feel that made it easy to relax after sightseeing. The food was delicious and well prepared too. With good service and a convenient location, Hotel Migmar, Thimphu deserves its 5-star rating and is highly recommended for a visit to Thimphu.

Of the four hotels we stayed at in Bhutan, this was the best. The rooms were huge and clean, the food was very good, and the buffet breakfast was awesome. Thanks to AD travels for suggesting it.
