Dolar Lodge

I was only there briefly while in transit and didn’t get to try the food. The rooms were spacious and clean, and there was a good sense of privacy and security. For a two-star lodge, Dolar Lodge is a decent option, and it’s conveniently located compared with many smaller lodges in Maun. There was a noticeable smell, possibly from the drainage. I visited in winter and didn’t see many outdoor activities, though there’s a garden where you can relax and a pool, which was empty during my stay. Dolla Lodge is conveniently situated and has flexible pricing, a plus compared with some other lodges nearby.

On arrival, the place looked average, and the lack of maintenance was disappointing. Only 10% of the items on the reported list had been dealt with, and there was no follow-up from senior staff. Door handles and locks were loose, cupboard doors had fallen off, and a bedside lamp was hanging by live electrical wires. The bathroom basin taps were completely detached, toilets leaked, and shower door slider wheels were broken or missing. The outside rubbish bins were overflowing and not emptied regularly.

The reception staff didn’t seem in the mood to check us in. The free Wi-Fi was basically nonexistent. The bathroom and shower doors were both broken and wouldn’t close, the air conditioning didn’t work, and there was no hot water. I wouldn’t recommend it, you can get better value elsewhere for the same price. 👎🏻

The food took two hours to arrive, and the shower head wasn’t great. The rooms are nice, and the air conditioning works okay, though it seems you can’t adjust the settings.
