The setting was a big part of what made my stay at Roaring River Golf Resort special. Before sunrise, I’d sit with coffee on the back veranda and watch the jungle wake up. Sunlight came through the canopy and lit up the dew on the spider webs, while birds started calling, especially the toucans. Small gibnuts wandered around looking for food. It was a quiet, grounding moment that felt personal and rare. The river behind each villa added to that feeling, flowing gently nearby. There are only six private villas, so the resort feels peaceful and intimate. They’re modern and thoughtfully laid out, with plenty of high-end amenities and room service. The on-site restaurant served outstanding food, easily five-star in my view. Staff were consistently helpful, and it seemed clear that care had gone into making a relaxing stay. Though it’s known as a golf resort, I found it suited nature lovers and foodies too. It’s a calm escape, while still being conveniently close to Belmopan. The golf course and natural reserve were beautifully maintained.

I’ve been three times, and the service, food, and drinks have been on point every visit. Beautiful property and wonderful staff.

The venue itself is beautiful, but the lack of follow-up made us look elsewhere for our wedding. I tried several times to get information through WhatsApp and got no reply. When my fiancé and I visited in person, we were given a tour, but the staff member said she wasn’t the events coordinator and couldn’t answer many basic questions. She took my phone number and email, and said the person in charge would contact us the next day. That never happened, even after we waited and called again. We eventually found the perfect venue elsewhere. This place has a lot of potential, but better client communication and making sure staff can provide basic information would make a big difference.

Getting a tee time has become nearly impossible because of the constant tournaments, and the course barely feels public anymore. What used to be a great place to golf has been ruined, with rounds now completely unaffordable. For golf in Belize, Balam Golf Course in Placencia is a much better choice. The price is similar, but the experience and course quality are ten times better.

We went for dinner with family who were visiting Belize for the first time. Sitting outside made for a beautiful, quiet evening, and the drive out there was lovely too. One family member tried whole fish for the first time and liked it so much they wanted to come back for it. My Dad had bread pudding and said it brought back memories, since he hadn’t had it since he was a kid. The staff were great, and the food has always been good when we’ve been there. We didn’t golf, but our kids have and really enjoyed it.
