Barefoot Caribe Hotel

The food was good, but the restaurant service was so difficult that I’d never go back. We had to get up ourselves for cutlery, side plates, ice, our bill, and even to pay. They were out of the drinks we ordered, and we had to ask for ice two more times before getting it, then fetch it ourselves. When we asked our server if she had a pen to write down our order, she said, “Well, I have a brain.” There were three of us, but she couldn’t manage it without a pen. We also had to go get our parmesan and cutlery. Great location, but the service was challenging.

I left hungry after spending $90 Belize, or $45 USD. I ordered lobster and shrimp linguine and got about four bites of lobster and five shrimp. The pasta portion would have fit in my palm, and it was soupy and had little flavor. I was given a knife and fork, but no garlic bread or spoon, and the red wine glass was dirty. I rarely leave a bad review, but save your money and don’t eat here. I can’t recommend this place.

We enjoyed dining right on the ocean, and the atmosphere was nice. The dual swing tables were fun, and our server was great. The food was decent, though not amazing.

This is my second dinner at Barefoot in the last three days. The food is so good, the drinks are delicious, and the service needs no notes. Amanda makes the place feel like home. I love it here!
