De Real Macaw Airbnb on Date Street is a block from the water, with an excellent spot near the island attractions. Our rooms were clean and maintained well, the bedrooms had AC, and the kitchen was fully equipped with drinking water. Screened windows in the kitchen, dining area, and bathroom let air in without bugs. The main drawback was linen for a two-week stay: we got just four towels and one set of sheets, no blankets, and no cleaning or fresh linens during the visit. If you're fine handling your own laundry and cleaning and don't need many extras, it could work for independent travelers who value the location and basics. More linens and periodic cleaning would help for longer stays. I might return, but would check the linen and cleaning arrangements first.

Being close to everything was great, and the people were friendly, but I probably wouldn't stay here again. Our AC kept blowing cold even when set to 30 degrees celcius, while fan mode left the room too hot, so we couldn't get a comfortable temperature. The beds weren't very comfortable, and the only cover was a thin sheet. You could hear everything between the bathroom and bedroom because their dividing wall doesn't reach the ceiling. Shower pressure was low, though the water did get hot. Each night there was also noise from people walking around outside at about 12 am and 1 am.

Our room was a comfortable, pleasant space, with a hammock right outside. It had cable TV, WiFi, and a coffee Brewer with hot water, pretty much everything you could ask for.

Jessie was a gracious host, and the place was clean and spacious. If you're after somewhere affordable and comfortable, this is a great find. A bonus if you like dogs.
