Amanda's Casita

The main street gets a bit loud from the golf carts, though the ferry terminal is only about five minutes away and we could walk just about everywhere. Abner was a great local contact, easy to reach and full of helpful tips and resources. There were nine of us staying briefly at Amanda’s Place. We liked the shaded areas, patios, and convenient pool. The Casita Carinosa rooms were comfortable and had great air conditioning, and the Yellow and Green Studios were comfortable too. Casa Amancer needs some upgrades. It’s a large, rustic room without air conditioning, and with no breeze it got warm in the evenings and was difficult to sleep in. I’d recommend skipping that room. For a short stay in Caye Caulker, the rest made for a good option.

The cool pool was a welcome break on muggy days, and having air conditioning at night made a big difference. We stayed in Casita Coranosa, sometimes with six people in our group, and the lovely outdoor deck meant we never felt crowded as we came and went around Caye Caulker. Patricia, the owner, and Abner, the manager, made us feel at home during our 12 days at Amanda's Place. They handled our requests easily and graciously. Abner answered our questions and concerns and made sure we had what we needed. The location is central to everything while still away from the hustle and bustle. Well done, and thank you, Amanda's Place.

Abner was quick to respond and helped arrange taxis to and from the airport. He also had lots of island recommendations. The location worked perfectly, right in the center of things and only a block from the beach. Two couples shared Casita Carnosa at Amanda's Place for four nights. The space was comfortable, with a semi-private porch near the pool, and we especially appreciated the air conditioning in every bedroom. The stay was wonderful. The only small drawback was the very firm mattresses, though not everyone in our group minded them. We’ll definitely return to Caye Caulker, and I highly recommend staying here.

The location is hard to beat, quiet but close to whatever you might need or want. I’d go back in a heartbeat. A friend and I stayed at Amanda's Place in mid-January 2024 and really enjoyed it. Our room was clean and just as described. The small garden in front of the houses was charming and well kept, and Abner was kind, very available, and helpful.
