Sattva Land

Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. We had a beautiful, relaxing and fun three-night stay in the Il Castello house with three adults and a young baby. There’s thoughtful care throughout the property, with a lovely balance of comfort and quality while still letting the natural beauty stand out. We walked in the jungle, swam in the natural pool, used the yoga room and watched all kinds of birds. There’s plenty to do along the gorgeous humming bird highway too. The road is dirt, so a larger SUV would help for outings. Melissa made delicious vegetarian dinners on-site, which we recommend trying. Everyone was warm and welcoming, especially our helpful host Sam.

Melissa deserves a special mention. She made us two nourishing, creative meals and served them in the sweet open-air room overlooking the natural pool. Her kind, warm and professional presence was a delight, and we’ll keep telling stories about her and this special place. We stayed in the beautiful LAMAT accommodations on the eastern edge, just a short walk from the pool and dining area. Sam, Guilia, Pina Garofalo and the Sattva Team welcomed us so generously. Their care for this little village comes through everywhere, from the paths and architecture to the natural pool. We’re grateful for all the kindness shown to us.

We spent a lot of time on the large screened porch, and slept deeply in comfortable beds with the windows open to the sounds of the jungle. Sam was an excellent host for our five-night stay. The grounds are beautiful, with several trails and a natural pool tucked right into the jungle. The house was well stocked, and the shopping and activity recommendations were spot on. It’s a peaceful place to reset, and we’ll stay again on our next trip to Belize.

I came to Sattva for two nights over Easter weekend to get away from the Placencia Easter madness and work on a creative side project. The peaceful, beautiful grounds gave me the clear headspace I wanted. The natural pool was so refreshing and calm, and Pina and Sam were lovely hosts and great to talk with. I absolutely loved the outdoor showers and composting toilets. Sam even sent me home with fresh eggs from the hens on the land. It was perfect, and I’m already looking forward to another stay.
