Thatch Caye, a Muy'Ono Resort

My husband and I had the best honeymoon on this wonderful island, and we absolutely love Thatch Caye. A short boat ride from the mainland takes you to the private all-inclusive island, with clear water, sunshine, over-water bungalows and their own decks, plus two mascot doggies. What really made the stay was the staff. They welcomed us with drinks and smiles and kept the trip fun and spectacular. By the end, we felt at home and close to them. Shout-outs to Luis, Shakira, Irwin, Junior, Darvin, Charles and Anivar. We’ll absolutely be back.

Getting to this fairly remote island was easy thanks to the arrangements they made. Once there, we found a relaxing, low-key retreat with friendly, wonderful staff and fresh, delicious food at every meal. Snorkeling is a must, we saw so many beautiful fish, rays, lobster and more. I’d absolutely recommend it and would go back.

The food was exceptionally good, made fresh every day with locally sourced ingredients. We also loved connecting with local communities and learning about their mixed and maintained heritage. There’s such a rich blend of cultures, and everywhere we went people showed deep pride in their roots and traditions. Our Belize trip was unforgettable, and the warmth and hospitality of everyone we met really stood out. The sister resorts, Sweet Songs and Thatch Caye, were exceptional. Special thanks to the Thatch Caye staff, Jackson, Anivar, Daniel, Junior and Shakira, who went above and beyond. We felt welcome and pampered every day. We can’t wait to come back.

The island was a perfect place to step away from the craziness of the world and reconnect with nature and people’s genuine kindness. The whole staff was incredible, especially Jackson and Luis at the front desk, Shakira at the bar, and Logan, who was always ready to help with whatever you needed. We had the most amazing time!
