The Ellysian Boutique Hotel

We got handwritten notes every day, and our room had a view of the water. It was solid, and the direct beach access and gorgeous pool made this just what we wanted. The location is unbeatable, within walking distance of everything. We tried almost every restaurant in Placencia, and the rooftop restaurant here was the best we had. It was a very quiet time of year when I stayed, and they did everything they could to accommodate me. The pool bar served outstanding drinks, and the bartender was lovely and very talented. I had a wonderful experience at the Ellysian hotel and highly recommend staying here.

We'd definitely come back. The hotel sits between the beach and the boardwalk in Placencia, and our spacious, clean, comfortable room had a patio facing the beach. The staff were kind and helpful. Muna, the fourth floor restaurant, served delicious food, beautifully presented by pleasant, capable servers. Nearby, we liked the Orange Gallery for souvenirs and The Barefoot Beach Cafe for a meal off-site.

Traveling with young kids can be tough, but the staff went out of their way to make things comfortable and easy for our family. Their day-to-day help and genuine kindness toward the children made a real difference. The bar service was always friendly and attentive, and housekeeping kept the room spotless. Our room was spacious enough for all five of us, which isn't always easy to find. The Elysian felt relaxed, well cared for, and very family-friendly. We had a wonderful stay and wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend it to families with kids.

The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the front desk staff were consistently friendly and accommodating. The area is gorgeous, with stores and restaurants within walking distance and the calm ocean just steps away. But our safety experience was frightening. At 3 a.m., a man came into our room through the slider, walked past the bed, and went straight to the safe in the closet. The area didn't feel as safe as we'd hoped, and I hope Ellysian adds security cameras for future guests. The next morning, all I got from the front desk was an apology. If you stay, keep every door locked. We regretted not doing that.
