Drift Inn Cayo

The friendly staff made up for the lack of curb appeal. We had our vehicle and found it ideal for my family of four, close to so many area attractions without being in the tight, congested downtown. If you're after an authentic Belize experience, this is the place: the people, food, sights, and culture. Special thanks to Trinity and Johnathan for making our stay incredible, and to Trinity and the greeting staff, Marlin and maintenance, and Johnathan, our bartender and friend, for their exceptional service. Our toilet stopped working, but they fixed it that same day. And our friends daisy and copper were always nearby, never pests.

There were lovely little wildlife sightings around the pond, with small turtles, a tiny frog, a baby iguana, and lots of butterflies. We enjoyed the music and party atmosphere, and the bartender made tasty drinks. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the pool was clean too. The restaurant on site was closed for our whole stay, but no one had told us. Our room was beside the road, so we heard cars passing until the early hours. It took us a few tries to get the TV working, so maybe instructions could be added to the file. The air conditioning wouldn't let us change its settings or temperature, and the dehumidifier tray was full.

The room was on the small side, but terrific for the price, and the resort was in an excellent location. Service was just okay, though the staff were marvelous.

The staff member Amaizie (sp?) gave top-notch service, handling check-in as well as bartending and serving. My room was clean, comfortable, and spacious.
