We had our own roomy, comfortable apartment with a kitchen, bathroom, and two bedrooms. The cottage porch was a favorite place for morning coffee while listening to birds and watching the sun rise. Clean, comfortable, spacious accommodations, and I could easily call the place paradise. We loved Maya Mountain Lodge. The gardens are lush, with Frangipani trees blooming outside our window and beds of flowers and medicinal plants around the grounds. I learned a lot on Levi's Medicinal Plants tour, including getting to sample a few right from the tree. One tasted like cloves and made my mouth go numb. The pool is open 24 hours and sits in the jungle. In the evening we listened to countless cicadas, sometimes joined by howling monkeys. Staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful, and always up for a chat. I'd come back in a heartbeat!

We enjoyed the restaurant, and the staff were attentive and friendly. There are lots of hammocks for lounging and listening to the jungle sounds. The grounds feel like a botanical garden, with labeled plants and jungle tours. They offer birdwatching, plant tours, yoga, massages, swimming, and cooking classes by appointment. They also arranged for our third-party Tikal and cave tubing tours to pick us up at the resort. We loved our stay.

We loved watching birds from the patios in hammocks each morning, and the pool and nature trail were great. The nightly bonfire was a lovely touch. Our room was spacious and comfortable for three people, with modern hotel comforts and a rustic lodge feel. The air conditioning worked well. At first we thought we could manage without a rental car, but ended up getting one, and I think that was necessary. I wouldn't recommend staying here without a car, since walking to town along the busy road wouldn't be prudent.

The plant tour was really informative, and the hammocks and pool were a big plus. We enjoyed the restaurant's great food, along with the birds, insects, and frogs we could hear day and night. The staff were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. We had an amazing stay at Maya Mountain Lodge. Thank you!

The staff were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We were five in the family, and the rooms gave us loads of space with a really thoughtful layout. Set in a gorgeous jungle spot, the whole visit was a perfect 10/10. Highly recommend!
