The setting is beautiful, the pool is great, and the staff were friendly. I had the best massage ever at the spa, and Pier 366 served great food and drinks. Next door, though, there was a lot of noisy construction, and a barge in the water spoiled the view. The swim-up bar is gone now, leaving just an empty bar. Once the construction is finished, this will be a great resort.

The restaurant food was very good, and the grounds were nice. The regular staff were pleasant, and the dive staff were great. But our room was dated and needed repairs: the sink wouldn’t drain, there was no hot water in the master, and the towels were shredded. A rooster next door woke us every morning at 4 am. The gym was tiny and useless, and the beach water wasn’t inviting. Overpriced for its condition.

We stopped in for a drink and something to eat, and the service was wonderful. The small restaurant has a really cool look, with distressed walls and wine racks. I had the Rose from Chile and shrimp cocktail, and both were excellent. It’s a very classy, upscale resort.

The beds in the rooms were some of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. We also enjoyed snorkeling and massages at the spa. It’s a beautiful resort with great amenities, and the staff kept checking in to make sure our stay was spectacular.

We stayed at Banyan Bay, and the service was outstanding everywhere. The new rooms were comfortable, clean, and very nice. Pier 366 had amazing food, and the connected pizza place hit the spot every time. The bar on the sand was run so well. Belize Pro Dive Center, the attached dive shop, was just the best for our group of 7. I hope Marriott takes care of everything and keeps the atmosphere. Keep the staff intact!
