The property was spotless and well cared for, which matters a lot to me. For the price, complaints about this place seem ridiculous, though I do have a couple of minor suggestions. The staff were excellent, friendly, and accommodating. The owner is a humble, interesting person if you get talking with him. It’s a charming family-run place, and I’ll definitely come back. It was peaceful, quiet, and relaxing, with a great sunset spot on the roof and a small courtyard deck with a little pool and a couple of friendly, well-mannered kitties. The location is excellent, walkable to everything. It’s on the lagoon side by the fishing charter boats, with no seaweed on this side of the island. There are several great restaurants and grocery stores within a five-minute walk. Complimentary bicycles are the best way to get around, though there’s safe parking if you bring a golf cart. My room had excellent WiFi, a mini fridge that kept my drinks cold, and the pool and room were cleaned daily. The breakfast here is the best around. The room was clean, safe, and quiet, and the new split AC worked great and was very quiet. I wish it had been turned on before my confirmed arrival, since coming into a hot room wasn’t welcoming, but it was cool by the time I got back from dinner. The water pressure was good, and there was hot water, though I take cold showers in the tropics. Rooms are sparse on amenities, but really, you’re here to shower and sleep. No cooktop, microwave, dresser, hairdryer, or night table. I missed having a night table to keep water within reach and set down my book. The mattress felt a bit old and springy, but I slept fine for five nights, even with my bad back at 60. I’ve traveled extensively, from hostels to Hiltons, and I’d stay here again before the Hilton.

The owner lives on site and is very knowledgeable. Service was great, the place was very clean, and all the downtown spots were conveniently close.

The room was nice and the AC worked well. Internet got the job done, though it was spotty at times and didn’t reach the bathroom in my room. I enjoyed the courtyard pool and could swim right outside my room, which is a nice option if you don’t feel like going to the beach but still want to be in the water. Owner Miguel was friendly and kind. The location was good, with plenty of nearby food options and golf cart parking, including spots inside the property gates. There’s also a restaurant attached to the hotel that I didn’t get to try, though its reviews looked pretty good.
