Hotel Royal Blue & Golf Cart Rental

This is my second year staying by the month. Shuvo gives great monthly rates for a balcony room with an ocean view, and the linens are laundered every day. People are very accommodating, and it's close to the water, clubs, and dining. I'll be back next year for an extended stay!

My aunt canceled her reservation in November, never stayed here, and received no service, but the place still charged her the full amount. When she got in touch to sort it out, the staff were rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. They took no responsibility. Charging for a stay that never happened is unacceptable, and her money needs to be returned promptly. Otherwise, this will be disputed with her bank and escalated through the appropriate consumer protection channels. I'd advise others to be extremely cautious before booking here.

The location worked well for us. We could easily walk around to find food and entertainment. But when I arrived at the building, I knew it was bad, and by then it was too late to cancel. The photos don't accurately show the building, location, or room. I had an oceanfront room, but it was run down, with holes in the wall and a leaking sink. The shower head was in the ceiling with no way to adjust it, which made no sense to me. There was a fridge, but it was unplugged and took almost half a day to cool after I plugged it in. It was also hiding a hole. Locals we met called it a hostel hotel. The owner and caretaker can and should do a better job maintaining the place. It isn't worth what they're charging.

You can rent golf carts at a decent rate to get around the island and reach Secret Beach. There's a free beach just steps away, and plenty of restaurants and bars are within walking distance. The balconies look straight out over the Caribbean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are great too. If you're hoping to save money instead of staying at a fancy resort, this is a good place.
