Sunset Caribe Belize

The pool was one of my favorite parts, and I spent most of the trip relaxing there. Sunset Caribe's grounds were well maintained and the atmosphere beautiful. Our loft was spacious, gorgeous, thoughtfully designed, and so comfortable I wanted to stay in it most of the time. Housekeeping did a phenomenal job, and every staff interaction was friendly, professional, and welcoming. Check-in was quick and easy, and the front desk was ready to help whenever we needed anything. I had an amazing stay and would happily return. It exceeded my expectations and made the trip memorable.

‼️45 & UNDER DONT GO‼️ The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and you can see the resort takes pride in keeping the property beautiful. But the atmosphere wasn't what we expected from a vacation resort. The pool and bar had no entertainment, and there wasn't a social place for guests to gather. It felt very quiet and lacked the fun, welcoming vibe many travelers want in Belize. The staff were professional, though not as friendly or engaging as at other resorts we've visited. During the day we were told we couldn't play our small speaker by the pool, which felt too restrictive for a vacation. Be aware this is a completely smoke-free property, including private balconies, and violations can mean a $500 fine. Dining was less convenient than expected. There's no full kitchen on-site, the pool menu is basic, and the main restaurant is next door at the sister property. Food was available, but not at a full-service restaurant within the resort itself. For the price, there are other island options with a livelier feel, friendlier service, and better amenities. If you want a quiet, low-key stay, this place may suit you. If you're after entertainment and a social resort atmosphere, you may want to look elsewhere.

We chose Sunset for three birthday celebrations because of the nice new rooms, great views, beautiful pools, and convenient access to Secrets beach and the airport. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff are courteous and helpful. Kelsey and Ethan at the front desk were great, and Lucita at the concierge desk helped plan an excursion for my family. I'd return for the rooms and location, though with low expectations for everything else. The all-inclusive breakfast wasn't worth it for us. We picked it to avoid hunting for breakfast each morning, but the three choices we had at Rain on the first morning were just okay. The Belizean breakfast I ordered through room service another day was much better. No one explained I needed to tell room service I had the all-inclusive option, so I was charged. Getting help with the safe was another headache. It didn't work one morning, and after two hours and several calls, plus my friend going to the front desk, someone from security came with the wrong key. That was extremely irritating when we wanted to be out exploring. The safes also aren't bolted down, which is a security concern. The gym is nice, with lots of machines, free weights, open space, and Lysol wipes at every station, but it doesn't open until 8am. Most people work out early, so that seemed strange. The room kitchens have plates, bowls, and utensils but no dish soap or sponge. The sheets and towels looked dingy, and one evening we had to call housekeeping to replace the unsightly sheets they'd put on that day (see video). One small thing that stood out to me, since I work in hospitality, was that employees don't look behind them as they walk through a doorway and just let the door close. Small gestures can go a long way.

Sunset Caribe was clean, lovely, and had a really relaxing feel. The rooms were comfortable and nice, and the staff stayed friendly and helpful throughout the trip. We had a great stay and I'd come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Belize.
