The Palapa House

Clara, the housekeeper, was so friendly and lovely to chat with, and Orlando, the building manager, is kind, always smiling, and works hard. The hotel’s in good hands with them. We had a wonderful week at Tara Del Sol, with spacious rooms and all the kitchen basics and appliances we needed. The location was great, with Chuck & Robbie’s dive shop right across the street and easy to get to. I’d happily stay here again. See you next year!

We liked being able to leave the doors open for a breeze, though the AC worked well whenever we used it. Our family spent a week in the penthouse and an adjoining room, and the setup worked great. The units were very clean, with comfortable beds and plenty of linens. Orlando was available around the property and helped with some last-minute requests, while Clara did an outstanding job housekeeping and made sure we had what we needed. There’s a lovely sea view, parking for golf carts, and shops and restaurants within walking distance. Five stars for The Palapa House.

Orlando went out of his way to help us late at night after we lost our key. The lack of a front desk wasn’t a problem at all, since everything felt seamless and any issue that came up would get resolved. We also managed to park our golf cart despite the area being so popular. The location is ideal, within walking distance of everything in San Pedro town, with a real beach and several tour companies right outside. I’d definitely stay here again.

We ended up staying close to two weeks, and they were very accommodating when I got covid, giving us credits for a year. The spacious place and kitchen were great, and we loved the little pool for cooling off after hot walks. The location is amazing, so we walked the beach for most of the trip and only needed a golf cart for three days. For a longer stay, though, I wish we’d had fresh sheets and towels once or twice. There’s no free housekeeping during the stay, and we ran out of toilet paper. They don’t provide water either, which is inconvenient on your first day, though nearby stores make it easy to get some if you plan ahead. Mostly small issues given how long we stayed.
