The forest walks and spa were wonderful, and our room was clean and nicely appointed. Staying in a mill built in 1888 was such a cool part of the visit. The food was thoughtfully prepared and looked like a little work of art. From Kim and Susan in reservations to Sean in the gardens, everyone helped make our time at the Millcroft feel magical. Special thanks to chef Karen, Jackie, Juliet, Victoria, Ana, and Sadie at Headwaters Restaurant, Elizabeth at check-in, and Julie and Rianpreet in the spa, along with everyone else we met. We had an amazing experience and highly recommend it.

Eduardo from maintenance and Diana, our dinner server, were excellent, and dinner itself was great. Still, for about $1,682 for two nights, Millcroft Inn & Spa didn't deliver the premium spa experience we expected. The room had obvious dirt and buildup on the window frames, trim, and around fixtures, plus insects on the window screen. Outside, parking was limited and poorly kept. We were left beside a storage container on slick ice that hadn't been salted, and the entrance mats were dirty with grime visible around them. The spa looked nice at first, but there was buildup in the pool corners, some surfaces needed refinishing, and there was no outdoor shelter when it rained. The lounge felt lacking in atmosphere, and a quick glance at the food prep area raised cleanliness concerns. Breakfast was also not good at all, a big contrast with the excellent dinner. The staff had good moments, but the property needs attention. At this price, the stay fell short of what we expected.

We were welcomed with a bottle of red wine, a thoughtful surprise, and check-in was easy. The whole place felt peaceful, with that cottage country atmosphere from the drive in onward. Our room was beautiful and clean, with gorgeous views that added to the relaxing feel. The property seemed well maintained, with clear care put into it. At Headwaters Restaurant, Lisa made the meal especially enjoyable. She was friendly, funny, attentive, and checked on us often. The food was delicious and very fresh. Service throughout our stay was outstanding, and we had a great experience from start to finish. I'd definitely recommend it for a relaxing getaway.

We had a great night at a small wedding. The space felt warm and welcoming, and the ceremony area was indoors beside the waterfall. The bridge, waterfall, trees, and buildings made a really pretty backdrop for pictures. The staff were friendly, attentive, and accommodating with our allergies and food sensitivities. We especially loved the food, including the beef tenderloin with peppercorn sauce.

I don't usually write reviews like this, but our stay at Millcroft left me feeling I had to. My girlfriend and I stayed in a King Suite on Saturday, June 6, and checked out Sunday, June 7, after attending a wedding about ten minutes away. The room cost $420 CAD plus tax. At around 9:06 a.m. Sunday, we went downstairs for breakfast. There were plenty of empty tables, but a line had formed at the restaurant. After roughly 20 minutes with no seating and no explanation, we asked at the front desk, about ten feet away, how much longer the wait might be. The employee replied, “Well, I work at the front desk, so I don’t know what’s going on at the restaurant.” She was the only hotel employee we could see, so it seemed natural to ask her for help. The answer felt needlessly rude and dismissive. We then politely asked if we could buy a spa day pass, even though we were checking out at 11:00 a.m. She simply said, “Nope, we don’t do that on weekends,” again in a rude, dismissive way. Neither we nor the other guests were angry, confrontational, or disrespectful. It seemed something might have been going wrong in the kitchen, but the employee didn't explain or try to help. We waited another ten minutes, then left for breakfast at Tim Hortons. We didn't want to spend another dollar at Millcroft, and we won't return. Writing this out still doesn't convey how the interaction felt. My advice to an executive or manager is to find out who was at the front desk at about 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2026, and seriously address her conduct. I don't think someone who treats guests this way when they ask polite, straightforward questions should work in hospitality.
