A ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) is a social event at which there is Scottish or Irish folk music and singing. The spirit of this light hearted gathering is carried forward to the experience here at the Lodge where a cup of tea or a short story can make friends out of strangers and make the best of friends even closer. The hotel’s location is nice, but the building is very outdated. The rooms have worn furniture, and the fridge and bathroom ventilation make a lot of noise. The internet was completely unstable and unusable, which just isn’t acceptable these days. Breakfast was the last straw: very basic, served on disposable dishes. So much waste, especially when the government tells us to use paper straws. Unbelievable!

We only booked one night and ended up wishing we’d stayed longer. The views from our private balcony were stunning, and the staff were polite and friendly. Our room was lovely, with an exceptionally comfortable mattress. We’d certainly stay here again.

A decent option for one night. It’s a typical motel layout, with rooms on two floors in one long building. The upstairs rooms have a nice view, and the bathroom was spacious. The beds were cozy. The main registration house has a lovely wraparound porch with comfortable furniture, and the breakfast room was nice. Breakfast seemed typical for the area: cereal, English muffins, toast, sausage patties, a fried egg, and jam on paper plates.

We spent two nights here with our family and had an excellent stay. The location made it easy to get to the local cafes and restaurants in town. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and every staff member we met was friendly and helpful. Hospitality was top-notch from the moment we arrived. We’d only suggest a wider breakfast menu, but that didn’t take away from our five-star experience. Highly recommend.
