Auberge de Jeunesse des Balcons

The bistro with the same name had a great atmosphere and affordable prices, and the hotel is close enough to walk around and see everything this charming town has to offer. I only wish we'd stayed longer. The building used to be a church and school, and staying in rooms once occupied by nuns felt unique. Check-in and checkout were smooth, and the people working there seemed genuinely friendly. The hotel and its surroundings were peaceful, and the other guests were respectful. It felt like a real break from our busy lives.

Right in downtown, clean, and affordable. Everyone was nice, and the staff were helpful and friendly. I loved having my own room, the free Wi-Fi, and the café in the building. They also had nice Maison Mère nun souvenirs.

Coming back for a second stay made me like it even more than the first, and I’ll be back again. The balconies around the building are a real treat, with elevated views over the hills and bay. It’s such a peaceful, pleasant spot, and having the resto-pub and cafes right there adds to the appeal. With all that history, it’s a must-stop place to stay.

The price was reasonable, and I’d recommend it. We arrived at night and had trouble finding the main entrance until someone from the hotel helped us. Our room was shared by four people and was very clean. The kitchen, living room, dining hall, bathroom, and toilets are shared spaces too. Even walking barefoot, our feet didn’t pick up any dust because the floors were so clean.
