Our bedroom was down in the cellar, with just one tiny window looking onto the wall of the house a few metres away. The room was okay otherwise, but very small, and the bathroom was so cramped that two people couldn’t use it at once. There’s a shared sitting area with no window at all, plus a shared kitchen with a small cellar-style window that doesn’t really let you see outside. Unfortunately, it didn’t feel like a place to spend time hanging out.

The breakfast was a real treat, and the host was attentive and friendly. Our room was clean and cozy, with nice decorations. It’s also close to the city center, with lots of restaurants and bars nearby. A great B&B.

We booked a non-refundable room four months ahead and arrived to check in this afternoon, only to be told by the owner that we couldn’t have it because of a maintenance issue. We were sent to another hotel at a higher price, and since it was a last-minute booking, breakfast wasn’t included either. I wish the owner or booking agency had told us about the cancellation earlier instead of waiting until we showed up. We did nothing wrong, yet had to pay extra through no fault of our own. Truly appalling.
