The staff had told us they were short-handed, but the service was so smooth we never would have guessed. They were warm, playful, and friendly, even with our limited French. We were lucky to find a spot for our larger group at this cozy, welcoming place, and had a wonderful meal. The food really hit the spot after a day on the slopes.

The food came quickly and tasted good, but the service needs serious improvement. We waited 20 minutes to be seated because nobody was managing the entrance. The line kept growing while the workers seemed to ignore us, which made it feel like they didn't want our business. Reservations don't seem to count for much. They don't ask for a name or time, so it seems you could make one up and it wouldn't matter. Servers also made us feel as if we were in their way or holding them up.

We ate at the restaurant connected to the hotel. It has a bit of a diner feel, and everything we ordered from the menu was delicious.

We hadn't expected much since we stopped in for lunch without knowing what the food would be like. The trout with lemon sauce, rice, and vegetables looked lovely and tasted even better, and the desserts were just as impressive. It was the best meal of our Quebec trip, even though we'd had plenty of good ones. Our waitress, a blonde who's been doing this for many years, worked so hard and was really friendly. Hats off to Orange Bistrot!

The pork cheek was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. Best meal I've ever had, and I'll be back if I'm in the area again!
