Canalta Lodge

For our quick Banff trip, this was a great place to stay. The facility was clean, updated, and nicely decorated, and our room was quiet and comfortable. We didn’t get to try the hot tub or sauna, though they looked lovely from the lobby window. The staff were lovely and very helpful when illness meant we had to leave early. It’s a bit of a walk to Banff’s main street and shops, but I liked being a little away from the crowds. We’d definitely stay here again.

Our room was quiet and clean, and it was handy to have a small fridge and microwave for leftovers or groceries. Breakfast was great each morning, and the staff were really nice and helpful. Parking took a bit of figuring out, but we found a spot fairly easily. There’s underground parking available for a fee, which we decided not to use. A great place to stay.

The adventure theme made us smile. The art features local places, and details around the property bring in camping, hiking, skiing, kayaking, and the mountains. They even have a s’mores happy hour with deals on adult drinks. So much fun! Our room was clean, cute, and well maintained. Parking under the hotel was easy, and there are ski lockers, bike racks, and a repair station. The location worked perfectly for us, just far enough from downtown but still a short walk or shuttle ride away. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. We were early, but the gentleman at check-in found us a ready room. They made me feel extra special on what was my best birthday trip yet. This was our first time in Banff, and we’ll definitely stay here when we come back in summer.

We chose to pay £19 a night for underground parking because the free spots on the road behind the hotel were first come, first served. Check-in was easy, and the friendly staff offered to help arrange any trips we wanted during our stay. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the main town, which suited us fine since we could look at local restaurants along the way. There’s also a bus stop nearby. Our spacious room and tasty breakfast were both lovely, and the courtyard hot tubs and sauna were open all day, perfect for relaxing after exploring Banff. We’ll definitely be back.
