Otter Hotel

We especially enjoyed the rooftop hot tubs and fireplace, with the mountains in view. The room and bed were cozy, and everything felt clean, modern, and new. Tia at the front desk was especially pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. We also ate breakfast at Good Folk restaurant, where the eggs benny was delicious and the atmosphere felt modern and new.

The hot pool and Sauna were great, and the gym was good for a hotel. We used the indoor cycle machines and thought they were excellent. The hotel is twinned with the Canoe, where Sudden Sally restaurant and snack area made a handy alternative for food or a coffee and pastry to go. The coffee was Melbourne standard! We stayed 12 nights, and the room was cleaned daily, though we skipped cleaning on days we didn't need it. All the staff were helpful. The location was great, the parking was good, and SkiBig3 dropped off and collected our rented skis. The food was excellent and well cooked, though breakfast could use smaller plates and more variety for international guests. The heaters were a bit noisy, but we turned them off while sleeping and the room never fell below 18 C. I'd add a small cold pool for one or two people by the Sauna. I would recommend the hotel.

The complimentary bus passes made getting into town easy, and there were great restaurants next door and downstairs in the hotel. We stayed at the fairmount before coming here, and this place was ten times better, hands down. The amenities were amazing, the hotel was really nice, and the rooms were so well done. We'll definitely stay here again.

The room and view were beautiful, just what we hoped for, but the service made the stay frustrating. I booked a room with “VIP access” and found out that it doesn't exist, which felt misleading from the start. There was no coffee, coffee machine, or microwave in the room. Whenever we asked for something, it took at least an hour and sometimes longer, and we often had to call twice. We waited an hour and a half for clean robes. When someone finally came, they asked what we needed because the front desk had said, “They keep calling, go see what they want.” We'd already explained several times that we wanted clean robes. The poor communication and slow response made it hard to enjoy the nice room. I also checked by email three times where the receipt would be sent, and still haven't received it.
