The Juniper Hotel & Bistro

Tucked away off the beaten path, this quiet restaurant has a beautiful view and top-notch service. Our waiter, Theo?, even took us to a photo spot outside the dining area and took the picture for us. We ordered the salmon benedict and rib benedict. The rib was amazing and flavorful, even with the diary free option. I just wish the salmon dish had more salmon, as it felt a bit unbalanced. It’s a really unique spot, and I’d still highly recommend it in Banff.

We had the Benny Trio with braised Bison and smoked salmon, and both were great. The stuffed French toast was a treat too, with a light amount of goat cheese that was just right. It was a relaxed morning, and the staff seated us by the window without us even asking. Tasty food with that stunning view was a highlight of our stay.

We went to Juniper Bistro for our 8th anniversary and had, without exaggeration, the best dining experience we’ve ever had. We got the last reservation at 8:15 PM, with the restaurant closing at 8:30 PM, but nobody made us feel rushed. Amy was the best server we’ve ever had anywhere. She was personable, full of energy, and so helpful with menu suggestions and allergy accommodations. She went above and beyond, seating us by the fire, keeping the area well lit throughout dinner, and taking beautiful photos of us to remember the day. The chefs were brilliant, and every dish was a hit. We had the botanical vermouth spritz and silent flight raspberry mojito mocktails. On Amy’s recommendation, we started with wild blueberry baked brie and the beetroot & elderberry medley. For mains, the Alberta honey fried chicken and bison tasting were flawless. The tasting let us try a range of things: housemade Saskatoon sausage, ribeye, and smoked brisket. We finished with Saskatoon tiramisu and complimentary peach & raspberry sorbet from Amy for our anniversary. Each flavor was spot on and complemented the next. Huge thanks to Amy and the kitchen team for making our anniversary unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back!

Brunch at Juniper Bistro was a hit. We shared the smoked salmon Benny, and the in-house smoked salmon made it so good. We also tried the Smoked Duck Brioche, with house-smoked duck prosciutto on brioche, kale, whipped cream cheese, blueberry compote, and chive oil. Both dishes were fantastic. The vibe was relaxed and the service was super friendly. Such a great stop, we’d definitely come back.
