Quality Inn

The hot breakfast got us ready for the day, and there was coffee and a microwave in the room too. The sheets and carpet were spotless, and the rooms were decent and very clean, even though the outside of the hotel looked quite dated. The hotel is right off the highway, and the woman at the front desk greeted us warmly. For the price, it's a great option, and we'll gladly come back.

Breakfast had a nice range of choices, including waffles, eggs, peanut butter, honey, and jam. Staff kept refilling things promptly and were friendly and welcoming. Free coffee and tea were available any time, which was a nice extra. The property was extremely clean and well located for getting to different areas. For the price, having breakfast included made it especially good value. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend it.

The staff were professional and wonderful, and they have nothing to do with this review. The room smelled like vomit, I had to refill the toilet water, and breakfast was gross. The eggs looked rubbery and I couldn't identify the meat. I don't eat eggs or meat, but felt bad for people who do. I spent two sleepless nights fighting with a heater that sounded like an engine room. This was the worst hotel I've seen in this chain. Nobody expects the 4 Seasons, but this stay was really bad.

We travel to Barrie every month. We couldn't get a room at the monte carol inn this time, so we stayed here, but if that happens again we're not choosing this hotel. There was nowhere to park at the hotel itself, despite the room listing saying parking at the room. The remotes barely worked and had duct tape on them. The shower head was badly rusted, the toilet paper dispenser came off onto my six-month-old, and the shower curtain was about to fall. The carpets were so stained I couldn't even let my kids play on the floor. There were bugs on the pool floor, and vomit that hadn't been cleaned up the entire time we stayed. I booked a room listed for a stay with kids, and now the hotel is charging $150 for a simple sheet stain, even though they knew they'd rented the room to children.
