Les Chalets De La Plage

The beach and kids’ park are only a couple of minutes away on foot, and children would love them. Miscou island is less than an hour’s drive. We stayed in October and found the chalet quiet, clean, comfortable, and roomy. The kitchen had all the basics, including utensils, dishes, pans, a toaster, and a microwave. There’s enough space for two, possibly three or four, though there’s just one bathroom. We were happy with our stay.

I feel lucky to have found this tucked-away gem. It was quiet, clean, and cozy, with a real at-home feel. One of the most beautiful places in the world. Some of my best times.

The beach is nice, but there was nothing on the site saying dogs weren’t allowed. We’d driven over an hour, then asked if we could sit on a park bench while the kids played in the splash pad. The answer was a very rude, aggressive no. I can accept being told no, but there’s a respectful way to do it. I won’t be back.

We used the chalet as a little house for one night while passing through Caraquet, just before Easter in the off-season. The beach wasn’t accessible then, but at least there were no mosquitoes, unlike what I’d read in other reviews. We arrived at 4:30pm, after the reception office had closed, so our credit card was charged and the keys were in an outdoor mailbox. The place was clean apart from very dusty sofa cushions and about 20 cigarette butts just outside the patio door. The kitchen had everything for making a full meal, and the wifi was fair. We’d stop here again.
