A1 Motel

The owners were so welcoming, and they even pointed us toward nearby attractions. We spent three nights here and found the room tidy, the bathroom lovely, and the location convenient near the intersection. Everything exceeded what we expected. I’d recommend it to friends.

Gurd (owner?) was friendly and made us feel welcome, so we’d stay here again. We’d picked the place just for the price as a simple overnight stop on a road trip, and it had everything we needed: clean room, comfortable beds, and air conditioning that worked great. The location turned out to be handy for the intersection we needed, with a gas station and a great diner-style restaurant right across the road. We were there on a holiday Monday when the town closed early, but that didn’t affect us.

Really impressed by how clean it was. I checked the little corners for dust and couldn’t find any. The service was nice, the lady was lovely, and it was affordable too. Thanks for having us, I’ll come back if I’m driving through again.

We booked at the last minute for that night, but accidentally reserved for 2026. Fortunately, there was still a room available when I got there. The front desk lady was very friendly and laughed with me about the mix-up. The room was bright and spotless. At $85 a night, you won’t find anything like it elsewhere. If you’re driving the Trans Canada and need a bed for the night, this should be your first call.
