Chalet 44

We’re already looking forward to another ocean-view stay at Chalet 44. It felt welcoming and homey, was very clean and well kept, and had what we needed for a restful visit. The ocean views were beautiful, with sunrises and a lovely sea breeze to enjoy. We had a great time, and the welcome made us feel right at home. Thank you!

We were left trying to find somewhere to stay at the last minute, 12 hours from home. We’d booked a year earlier, but despite calling several times in the month before our arrival to clarify the details, we got no answer or callback until the day before. By then we were already on the road, and he told us the place was damaged. We went over to see what we were missing, and there was a car parked there that clearly didn’t look like a repairman’s. I’d avoid doing business with this person if you don’t want to end up in the same situation. I was very disappointed. Edit: You said rain had damaged the place before you knew there would be five of us. We were prepared to cover any related fees, and brought a bedroll so we wouldn’t need to use furniture as a bed. I’d tried to contact you back in July about the five-person issue, but, as I said, you didn’t answer our calls or emails. The rain damage explanation would have been fine if it had been true, but sadly it clearly wasn’t. Thanks for replying now. It looks like you have plenty of time to answer customers. I hope you understand how difficult the last-minute situation you left us in was. Have a nice day.

We had booked a year ahead and traveled from Quebec, but the owner canceled our reservation the day before so he could rent to someone else. He said rain had damaged the place. We went to check for ourselves, and saw no damage, while someone from Quebec was staying there.

A lovely little cottage with a great big deck for sitting outside and taking in the ocean view.
