Motel 5 Belleville

The room looked tidy, but when I stepped onto the carpet beside my bed, my feet sank into it. So gross. My socks were soaked with who knows what. I put the inn’s towels down, changed my socks, and went to bed, then left as soon as I woke up. It’s a cheap place to stay overnight, but I wouldn’t go back unless I absolutely had to.

See the pictures. The parking lot was full of water-filled potholes. The room was old, dirty, and very unkempt. One lampshade had water damage, and the other was broken. Curtains were missing hooks, with one hook sitting on the heating register. The walls had only partial repairs. The furniture was dirty and ripped, the toilet was dirty, and its roll holder was broken. There was even a piece of wood behind the toilet tank. Terrible experience.

The room wasn’t cleaned properly, and there were flies. At the bathroom doorway, the carpet wasn’t fitted properly, with nails or other sharp points poking my feet whenever I went in or out. The bathroom was poorly planned too. The toilet sits in a triangular corner, leaving you cramped and making it extremely uncomfortable to use. I was also shocked there was no coffee maker in the room. Even the cheapest place should offer one.

I just needed an affordable place to sleep for one night, and Travelers Inn did the job. The staff and room were nice. My only complaint is that the parking lot badly needs repaving.
