The owner is around and helpful, and those little things make it clear he cares. There are prints of a local sculpture in the rooms, new air conditioners, lots of outlets, and I think we had two bottles of water. In the morning he was bagging ice at the machine. He’d asked at check-in if we needed any, and gave us all we wanted. The flowers he plants outside every year are spectacular. It’s good value, with simple, very clean rooms. The air conditioner worked well, and the towels were decent. It’s still a quiet spot, though the trees have grown and something is being built across the street, despite the motel being right across from the lake. This is the kind of roadside motel they used to be, and should be again. I’d stay here another time. Motels can offer clean, decent rooms and personal on-site service without being dives.

The rooms are surprisingly quiet even though the motel is right on the highway, and the air conditioner worked amazingly well. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the staff were super friendly. They left water and cookies in the room, which also had a good-sized fridge and a nice microwave. The beds are quite high, so if you’re short like me, bring something to help you climb up, lol. I’d personally prefer a softer mattress, but that’s just my preference. First time staying here, and I’d definitely come back.

Really friendly, clean, and reasonably priced. It has everything you need, even a toaster and kettle. Nicer than a chain hotel.

The staff were nice and quick to respond, and the rooms were clean and okay. The bathrooms could use some improvement. It’s a good option for a short stay in the Blind River area, but too far away if you’re planning a trip to Manitoulin Island. I stayed one night last week.
